Self-Catering Holiday Cottages on the English-Welsh
Borders near Ludlow
Mocktree
Barns are an ideal base for exploring the delightful
countryside of South Shropshire, Herefordshire and mid-Wales,
one of the few ‘Tranquil Areas’ left in
England.
Located close
to the historic town of Ludlow, we offer self-catering
accommodation in five comfortable and well-equipped
holiday cottages.
Less mobile
guests are well provided for and we have been inspected
and awarded National Accessible Scheme level 1.
Mocktree
Barns date from the 16th century and were once a set
of farm buildings. They were converted to provide five
distinct and individual cottages situated around a south-facing
courtyard.
The owners,
Clive and Cynthia Prior and their family, live in the
adjacent house which was once the threshing barn.
Guests are
welcome to enjoy our wildlife friendly gardens and the
courtyard with table and chairs for eating outdoors
in the summer.
Our small
wildflower meadow is now in its second year and we are
actively involved in promoting Green Tourism. Spring
visitors can enjoy our profusion of cowslips.
In addition
to accommodation, we can also offer "Discovery
Walking Holidays" for groups. This is an opportunity
to spend a few relaxing days learning more about the
local landscape and wildlife with experienced tutors/walk
leaders.
