We have been
aware of environmental concerns for a very long time
and have always tried to run our business in an environmentally
friendly way.
We aim to
reduce the amount of resources that we use, particularly
energy and water, and to reuse things, either within
the business or by handing them on.
With a little
care we recycle a lot of our waste and ask our guests
to help us with this. All our gardening is done organically
and this lets wildlife flourish at Mocktree Barns.
We have a
variety of herbs around the courtyard – you are
welcome to use them in your cooking.
We encourage our guests to support other local businesses
and plan to offer an organic box delivery service, using
a local supplier. Our hospitality trays include Fairtrade
products and we encourage guests to support other local
Fairtrade businesses. www.tigerlilyshop.co.uk
We
are pleased to offer 10% off our tariff for guests arriving
by public transport. We are just 7 miles away from Ludlow
mainline station and have a country bus service passing
our gate. We can arrange cycle hire, a reliable local
taxi service, drop off / pick up for walks and delivery
of groceries.
We
were delighted to be given the Gold Award for Sustainable
Tourism in the 2007 Regional Tourism awards. Since then
we have achieved a Silver award under the Green Tourism
Business Scheme and have joined the Shropshire Hills
Buy Local, Be Sustainable initiative. www.shropshirehills-buylocal.co.uk
